Matthew Yonally is intrigued with a life well lived.

When not busy as a 33 year Wall Street veteran, he might be found playing polo, spending time in Paris, traveling abroad, skiing, or making olive oil from the family groves that overlook the Pacific ocean at the home he shares with his wife and son in Santa Barbara, California.  Whether it’s architecture in New York, opera in Vienna, or discovering an interesting bottle of Malbec in Buenos Aires, he’s always thinking about the next adventure and interesting find.

Saint Augustine reportedly once said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel only read the first page.”  While that’s undoubtedly true, Matthew Yonally believes there are also “don’t miss” moments and glimpses of beauty, style, grace and excellence all around us no matter where we are. Camera in hand, constantly considering and observing – wandering and recording – Irving Penn’s words are a timeless testimony to the power of story telling:

I myself have always stood in awe of the camera. I recognize it for the instrument that it is, part Stradivarius, part scalpel.
